There Are Lots Of Ways To Get Home Safely... ALL YOU NEED IS ONE!

ANBL Launches Important Responsibility Campaign for the Holidays

Alcool NB Liquor wants New Brunswickers to plan ahead and make arrangements for getting home safely this holiday season.

The Corporation will deliver its proactive message during the holiday period through a multi media campaign unveiled during its official launch today in Fredericton.

"The holiday season presents many opportunities for socializing," said ANBL President & CEO, Dana Clendenning. "We want to encourage people to make good choices, to ensure they get home safely."

The "Getting Home Safely" campaign uses humorous fictional characters to deliver this very serious message. The campaign features newspaper ads as well as posters, t-shirts and mock business cards to be used at corporate liquor stores in support of the campaign. An interactive website featuring the characters of the campaign and offering games and prizes will also promote the social responsibility campaign.

The campaign is being run to various degrees in the four Atlantic Provinces and cost shared by the liquor boards.

"This initiative is the beginning of a renewed commitment by ANBL to increase its participation in programs that promote responsible use of beverage alcohol," said Clendenning. "We take our social responsibility mandate seriously and we intend to challenge ourselves to do even more."

NEW Prospect Street Liquor Store OPEN...

Greater selection and improved shopping convenience are some of the many new features of Alcool NB Liquor’s new Prospect Street store, in Fredericton.

The new Prospect store, relocated next door to Sobeys in the Fredericton Mall, is ANBL’s fourth Sélection store in the province. With its additional 278 metres (3,200 sq. ft.) of floor space, the new store offers customers an expanded selection of wine, beer and spirits.

"Our latest Fredericton store features ANBL’s new interior design and colour scheme package, providing our customers with a greatly enhanced shopping experience," said ANBL President and CEO Dana Clendenning. "The Prospect Street store also has a "Centre of Discovery" kiosk where customers will find our trained staff ready to offer advice on product selection as well as wine and food pairings."

Clendenning added that another bonus for ANBL customers with the new store location is the cross access to the adjacent Sobeys store.

"This delivers convenient one-stop shopping allowing customers to pick up their grocery order and then visit our store to find a product," Clendenning added. "These partnerships fit well in our mission statement of responding to our customers’ needs through the delivery of products and services in a progressive and responsible manner."

There will be an official opening ceremony at the new store at noon on Friday, December 1st.
Alcool NB Liquor is a Crown Corporation of the Province of New Brunswick. In 2005-2006, the Corporation transferred over $123 million to the province to invest in key spending priorities. ANBL operates 51 corporate stores and 70 agency stores.
